New review article on the function of RBP4 - Schupp`s lab

Retinol binding protein 4 (RBP4) is the sole specific transport molecule for vitamin A (retinol) in the blood. A new review article by the group of M. Schupp, in collaboration with partners from the University Graz, summarizes the current state of knowledge on the physiological functions of RBP4 and illuminates the role in vitamin A homeostasis. Furthermore, the relevance of RBP4 for human diseases is presented and the underlying mechanisms discussed.
