
Two young scientists represent the Max Rubner Center at the annual Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting: medical doctors Niklas Beyhoff and Arne Thiele are among the 600 international scientists who succesfully mastered the highly competitive multi-stage selection process. Since 1953, outstanding young scientists meet Nobel laureates in Lindau for exchange between generations, cultures, and disciplines.
Dr. med. Niklas Beyhoff completed his doctorate in the lab of Prof. Ulrich Kintscher in 2020, for which he was honored with the Robert Koch award. Afterwards, he worked as a BIH Junior Clinican Scientist at the Department of Cardiology, Angiology and Intensive Care oft he DHZC. Currently, he pursues a research fellowship at the University of Oxford.
Arne Thiele (supervisor Dr. Anna Foryst Ludwig, Kintscher lab) completed his MD/PhD in 2023 and works at the Department of Nephrology and Medical Intensive Care. His current research focus lays on the relationship between nutrition, the microbiome and inflammatory processes in chronic kidney disease as well as cardiovascular disease.
